Among the many honors and accolades she received during her career were CHC’s 1993 Professor of the Year, and she was recognized by the University of Redlands’ Town and Gown for her efforts in bringing art to education. Her husband Ed Yarnelle established the Betty Byron Memorial Scholarship upon her death on February 7, 2005.
