Kiwanis Club of Yucaipa Valley Scholarship – This scholarship is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Yucaipa Valley and has dedicated this year’s award in the memory of Elgar Burgeson. Elgar started Burgeson’s Heating and Air Conditioning in 1949 with a dedication to hard work, a passion for excellence in his craft, and a commitment to serving his customers with respect, honesty and integrity. He built his business on being a firm, but fair leader who worked shoulder to shoulder with his team expecting the same sincerity and responsibility from them that he modeled. Now, four generations and over 70 years later, Burgeson’s Heating, A/C, Electrical, Solar and Plumbing continues this legacy by embracing the inspiring traits of its founder… dedication, passion for excellence, commitment, respect, honesty, integrity, fairness, sincerity, and responsibility just to name a few. Criteria: Awarded to Crafton Hills College Students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who have shown involvement in the community and on campus and who reside in Yucaipa or Calimesa.
