CHC - Raymond F. Ellerman Memorial Scholarship

Raymond F. Ellerman Memorial Scholarship – As a former Chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District, Ray Ellerman was involved in the planning and building of Crafton Hills College. He held the position of Chancellor during the first nine years of the College’s operation. After serving in the South Pacific during World War II, he obtained his doctorate from the University of Southern California. Dr. Ellerman came to San Bernardino Valley College in 1957, where he served as Vice President of Business. A highly respected administrator, he was also a financial wizard, completing the construction of Crafton Hills College on a pay-as-you-go basis. When the College was completed, the bonded indebtedness was zero.
Criteria: Music major; cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; must be enrolled in six units; demonstrated ability on a musical instrument; participated in one or more instrumental performing groups.
