SBVC - James Yurkunski Memorial

Born in Rhode Island, Jim Yurkunski received his early education in San Bernardino, graduating from San Bernardino Valley College in 1948. Jim joined SBVC’s Foreign Language Department in 1963 where he taught Spanish until his death in 1977. Recipients must be returning students with a 2.5 grade point average or higher who intend to teach. They must have completed at least two semesters of a foreign language at SBVC or two years of foreign language in high school.
