CHC - Ruth L. Tillman Scholarship
Ruth L. Tillman Scholarship – The Ruth L. Tillman Scholarship was established by her family to encourage students who live in Calimesa to go into some aspect of public service. Ruth L. Tillman was a high school counselor for over 30 years. She came from a very poor immigrant family who never had a chance to receive a formal education. She was the first in her family to graduate from high school, let alone college. Mrs. Tillman worked very hard to make her life and her children’s lives better. She worked throughout her education and ultimately earned a Master’s in Sociology. She was a loving mother, great friend, and caring counselor. She believed in the power of knowledge and encouraged everyone she touched to be the best person they could possibly be.
