SBVC - Estelle and Stan Heydenfeldt Memorial Scholarship

Estelle Heydenfeldt was an accomplished musician and outstanding student. She graduated from SBVC in 1948, was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma and president of Phi Lambda Delta. Her brother, Stan Heydenfeldt, transferred to USC from SBVC in 1949 and went on to enjoy a successful career in music. Stan was an accomplished trumpet player who worked with major orchestra leaders Freddy Martin, Russ Morgan, and others. The Estelle and Stan Heydenfeldt Memorial Scholarship was established by their sister, Dorothy O’Bryan, who is also a SBVC alumna (1951) and was also active in music at the college.
The recipient of this scholarship shall be an entering or returning student, with a 3.0 grade point average or higher, majoring in music. The selection is made by the Music Department.
