SBVC - George Thomas Akin Memorial Art Scholarship

George Thomas Akin was the president of his own national commercial art company which specializes in exhibits and interpretative museum displays. Tom first became interested in SBVC when he agreed to serve on the Commercial Art Program Board, and subsequently he became a regular student in the glassblowing classes. Four scholarships are awarded for artistic excellence. Each recipient is selected by unanimous agreement of the faculty in the Art department.
