SBVC - Dr. Anne Elizabeth Shirrells Memorial

A graduate of SBVC, Anne Shirrells was active in the Baptist church, NAACP, the League of Women Voters, Girl Scouts of America, and the Democratic Party. Dr Shirrells received an honorary doctorate from the A. Phillip Randolph Institute for her contribution to human rights and the wellbeing of others. This scholarship is for African-American students with financial need who show promise of academic achievement and an interest in a career in community services.
