SBVC - Rothhaar Family Public Speaking Award

Edward R. Rothhaar, Jr. was a professor of speech at SBVC. He retired in 2000 and passed away in 2011. This scholarship reflects the Rothhaar family’s commitment to the value of communication skills and their involvement in various media.

Academic excellence is required as well as (evidence of) college and community service. The student must have completed at least 24 transferable units (including at least one transfer level speech course in which the student received a grade of “A”). The SBVC Speech Department faculty selects the awardees.
