CHC - Charles Benson Thomerson Memorial Scholarship

Charles Benson Thomerson Memorial Scholarship – Professor Ben Thomerson taught for the San Bernardino Community College District for over thirty years, first at San Bernardino Valley College and then at Crafton Hills College. Ben taught English, Mythology and the Humanities. He was dedicated to his students and never hesitated in guiding many of them, whether young students or older returning students, to succeed in furthering their education. Professor Thomerson was also the Study Abroad Coordinator, and was responsible for sending Crafton Hills College instructors and students to England and Spain. His devotion to Mythology and Homer vibrated throughout his teaching career. His wife Katherine established the Charles Benson Thomerson Memorial Scholarship upon his death on January 2, 2002.
Criteria: Crafton Hills College continuing student, age 25-45; English/Literature major with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
