SBVC - Russell Baldwin Memorial

Russell Baldwin was a member of the San Bernardino Valley College faculty from 1947 until his retirement in 1978. He taught music theory and composition, music history and piano and served as head of the department. He also served as president of the Spinet club and as an organist and choir director for several local churches. He was an accomplished composer. Baldwin’s composition, “Concertino in F major for Piano and Orchestra,” was composed and performed for the commemoration of San Bernardino Valley College’s 50th anniversary in 1976. Exceptional music students, preferably in piano, and intending to transfer to a four-year college are eligible.
