SBVC - Cleo & Rollie Schmidt Memorial

As a college alumna, Cleo was active in real estate investments and interior home design. She loved poetry and literature and found pleasure in expressing herself in various narrative forms. Roland was a businessman, tire salesman, former band leader and loving husband and father. Recipients must have completed at least 25 units at SBVC with a 2.75 or higher grade point average and be actively engaged in creative writing. The Schmidt Memorial scholarship is awarded annually to students who show promise in creative writing and/or to students in sales. Recipients are to be selected by SBVC’s Scholarship Committee with counsel from faculty involved in the creative writing program.
