SBVC - Margaret Dodds-Schumacher Memorial, Part of the Osher Initiative for California Community College Students
Margaret Dodds-Schumacher was an SBVC associate professor of psychology who passed away on April 1, 2008. Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, Margaret channeled her bright, kind, and giving personality to benefit her students in academic counseling and through her online courses. She was well known for her generosity, and many believe that the lives she touched, whether it was in person or online, were changed for the better. Recipients must have overcome some hardships to attend college and have financial need. Recipients must also have completed 24 units of degree-applicable study at the time of receipt, be enrolled in six units or more for the ensuing semester, and qualify for a Board of Governors fee waiver.
