SBVC - Walter & Fernanda Douglas Memorial

Walter Douglas, a favorite professor of many students, taught for more than 30 years at SBVC. He passed away in 2001, as Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and as a retired associate member of the SBVC Faculty Association. Fernanda Graziosi Douglas taught conversational Italian at SBVC and was beloved by her students, who would often take her class many times over. Fernanda was also a Spanish literacy teacher in the San Bernardino City School District.
This scholarship goes to a re-entry/Second Chance student at San Bernardino Valley College who will be returning to the college in the fall and has strong letters of recommendation. This student may also be juggling college, work, and family responsibilities and may not yet qualify for other scholarships.
