SBVC - George Iwanaga Memorial Scholarship

A professor of Spanish, George Iwanaga was appointed to the SBVC faculty in 1977. At SBVC, Iwanaga established the first California Community College chapter of Sigma Delta Mu. Application is for students who are Spanish majors and plan on a career in teaching. Two semesters of Spanish Language courses must have been completed at SBVC with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average. The Spanish Department selects the student.
