SBVC - Julie Sommars Scholarship

Julie Sommars is a film, stage and television actress. In 2001, Ms. Sommars was selected as one of SBVC’s 75 People of Distinction. She attended SBVC in 1958-59 and was in the cast of the spring play Brigadoon. In 1969, she won a Golden Globe Award for best actress in the television sitcom The Governor, and in 1990 she received a second Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress in the television drama Matlock. Recipients must be active in one or more area of the arts.
