SBVC - Robert & Dorothy Smith Family

Mr. Scott Fruchter met Commander Smith (USCG, Ret.) and his wife through their daughter, Mr. Fruchter’s college classmate. When Mr. Fruchter has no place to live, Commander Smith and his wife took in Mr. Fruchter and treated him as if he was a family member. Mr. Fruchter is offering this scholarship in memory of Commander Smith and Mrs. Smith. The scholarship is awarded to students who have been homeless for at least six months in the previous five years.
