CHC - James R. Cox Memorial Scholarship
James R. Cox began his career in public service in 1967, when he was hired as a patrol deputy with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. During his 25-year law enforcement career, his dedication and integrity led to his promotion through the ranks, and he retired as a lieutenant in 1992 and taught part-time at Crafton Hills College. His family established the James R. Cox Memorial Scholarship upon his death in 2000.
Criteria: Awarded to a student continuing enrollment at Crafton Hills College; emergency services career; GPA of 3.0 or higher.
